- 4 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 4 1/2 squares of unsweetened chocolate (4 1/2 oz.)
- 7 1/2 T scalding hot milk
- 3 cups sifted confectioner’s sugar
- 3/8 teaspoon salt.
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- Melt butter and chocolate together over hot water.
- Mix sugar and salt.
- Pour hot milk over sugar/salt mixture and stir to dissolve completely.
- Add vanilla and chocolate mixture to the suger/milk. It will be very thin.
- Beat while hot until it thickens enough to spread and becomes smooth and glossy.
- Don’t try to beat this by hand. It won’t work.
