- 1 3/4 cups sugar
 - 1 cup butter
 - 4 eggs, well beaten
 - 3/4 cup milk
 - 1/4 cup salt
 - 4 cups sifted flour
 - 3 teaspoons baking powder
 - 2 teaspoons vanilla
 
- Cream butter and sugar
 - Add eggs and salt.
 - Add flour and milk alternately.
 - Lastly, add the baking powder with a little flour and the vanilla.
 - Bake ina solid pan or pan with stem almost an hour
