- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1/2 cup soft butter or shortening
- 6 tablespoons white sugar
- 6 tablespoons brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon water
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup coarsely chpped nuts
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- Sift together flour, soda, salt. Set aside.
- Blend butter or shortening with sugar, vanilla and water. Beat in egg.
- Add flour mixture and blend well.
- Stir in nuts.
- Drop by teaspoonful on greased cooking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes.
