- 2 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons shortening
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- butter
- Mix first four ingredients.
- Cut in shortening.
- Add beaten egg and milk.
- Spread in shallow pan and cover with sugar and cinnamon mixed.
- Sprinkle orange juice on top and dot with small pieces of butter.
- Bake at 425° for 20 minutes or until browned nicely.
- Pecans aren’t mentioned in the directions. Does anyone remember whether they’re in the batter or the topping?
- Serve hot or cold.
- Bake in rectangular shaped pan, approximately 1.5″ deep.
